Holga
OK so a little while ago now I got given a Holga camera - not having used one before I thought the results were going to be a little hit and miss, but I was fairly happy with what I managed to get. With more practice I should improve.
Here's some of the shots I managed to get before we left Greenwich.

Mistaken Identifty
On
the 20th April 2012 the Telegraph and the Mail Online (and other
websites since then) ran a story about a company called Westgate Photography ruining
a British couple’s wedding day with their incredibly bad photography. The two ‘photographers’
we’re named Ian McCloskey and Nikki Carte.
In
backlash people have been Googling ‘westgate photography’ to find the culprits
and have instead been finding our website, subjecting us to angry and upsetting
rants.
We
set up a disclaimer straight away and contacted the press to explain what had
happened since they were the one’s to run the story. We were told that they
would only run a counter story if we were being forced out of business or being
forced to rebrand. ‘Westgate’ is my family name and the reason we are called
Westgate Photography so why should we re-brand ourselves!
We
have waited a few days to see where the story is going, and thankfully things
are dying down. We are a small company and ride ourselves in our friendly communications
with our clients and delivering the images that they are happy with. We are
horrified to be associated with such a story and only hope that people will be
able to tell the difference between us and, the now devolved, other Westgate Photography.
This
was in no way a scam, as some people have accused us of, and we cannot stress
enough that we are and have never been in any way associated with the other company.
This
has simple been an unfortunate case of mistaken indentify and the media not checking
or being clear with the facts.
We would personally
(and I think we have and will continue to do so) like to thank everybody for
their positive messages we have received and hope this will not tarnish our
name and the work we produce.
